Ecotherapy
Ecotherapy and Shamanism are closely linked practices that centre on our relationship with the natural world. Eco‑shamanism, a form of ecotherapy, uses nature as a gateway to the spirit world, offering healing, insight, and guidance.

Shamanic Healings
Listed below are Healings available. Please contact us for further information:-
Please note: Before and in addition to the main Healing, most clients will require a diagnostic journey to determine which Healing will be best suited in addressing their needs.
As part of the Healings we offer a full after care service to our clients.

Soul Retrieval
It is believed that when we experience emotional trauma, a part of our soul leaves the body to protect us from deeper hurt, in order for us to survive the experience. The soul in this definition is what is known as life-force. Most Shamanic cultures believe that illness occurs through soul-loss and that this can manifest in the sensory world as, for example, low-self esteem, anxiety disorders, lack of confidence, depression and fear.
This Healing works at soul level, is in two parts and is a very deep Healing. The first part involves the practitioner journeying to the Shamanic Realms to bring back the missing soul-part. This will be the most significant soul-part for the client at this moment in time and will only be what he or she will be able to cope with at the time of the healing. What will be brought back is the essence of what is missing and not the trauma itself. Sometimes a Power Animal will be brought back at the same time to help with a more affective re-integration. The second part of the Healing will take place a week to two weeks later which will be a guided Journey followed by a Fire Ceremony. This is a very beautiful Healing and a time for celebration, as a part of the client's soul is returned to the physical body.

Past Life Healing
Shamans believe that we have lived many lives and that everything is cyclic. This means that we are in a cycle of death and re-birth which is part of our path of knowledge and learning from each life. In this life we may have a sense of an issue that is not resolved or of hanging on to something. This could be the result of a previous life and death experience who's repercussions or ripples are felt in this life. This Healing is in two parts. The first part involves the practitioner journeying to the Shamanic Realms to be shown the most significant past life for the client at this time. This is a very deep Healing and works at soul level.
The second part involves a guided meditation to help resolve any issues connected to that past life and to cut the ties and bonds to it.
This is a very beautiful Healing and a time for celebration, honouring that past life and the learning it has brought to you.

Power Animal Retrieval: (Empowerment Healing)
Shamans believe that when we are born we are connected to what is known as a Power Animal which can bring special qualities into our lives. However, over time this connection maybe lost giving rise to a sense of being disconnected, powerless and lost. This Healing involves the practitioner journeying to the Shamanic Realm to be shown a Power Animal that will be most needed at this point in time for the client. Sometimes more that one Power Animal will be brought back. In different cultures of Shamanism it is believed that Power Animals possess infinite wisdom and through the nurturing of strong bonds with them, this wisdom and guidance can be accessed and used in healing ourselves and others and to help support and develop our sense of connection to nature and all creation. This Healing works at soul level and after receiving this Healing a feeling of being "powerless" is replaced by a sense of being "powerful"
Samanic Healings
"Healing doesn't mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives"
-Native American Wisdom-

Distance Healing
Healing can be sent directly to a client with the power of intention. Needs are discussed by phone first and a future date and time mutually set aside for the healing to take place. A follow up phone call is also organised so that we can give any relevant feedback that has been gained from spirit. This is no less effective than when a client is present in the same space with us, and an equal amount of effort and commitment is given to the healing.

Other Healings Available
Extraction Healing- removal of unwanted/unusable energies.
De-Possession Healing- removal of unwanted spiritual attachments.
Ancestral Curse Removal- removal of ancestral curses/spells.
Psycho-Pomp- working with spirit to allow for transition to afterlife.
Space Clearing- clearing and removal of negative energies within homes.
Shamanic Energy Healing- working with universal energies within a Shamanic context.

Sweat Lodges
Sweat lodges hold a sacred place in many Indigenous cultures, serving ceremonial, social, and healing purposes. Traditionally dome‑shaped and heated with fire‑warmed stones, they create an intense steam environment where participants sweat deeply, pray, and release physical and spiritual burdens. Among the Sioux and Lakota, the sweat lodge is one of the Seven Sacred Rites, a ceremony through which people cleanse both body and spirit.
Our sweat lodge is built by hand in the traditional way, using locally harvested willow and thick woollen blankets. At its centre lies a pit where igneous stones — specially chosen for their ability to withstand high heat — are placed after being heated in the fire. Participants sit through rounds of invocation and prayer, with water poured onto the stones after each round to raise the heat and deepen the experience.
This is a profoundly sacred ceremony, held with care, respect, and intention.
To take part in a sweat lodge, explore our upcoming events or get in touch for more details.
If you would like us to bring a sweat lodge ceremony to your group or community, we welcome you to contact us.
Ecotherapy
What is Ecotherapy?
Ecotherapy is a therapeutic approach rooted in ecopsychology, which emphasises the connection between humans and the natural environment. It operates on the principle that personal well-being and planetary well-being are interconnected, and that harmonising with natural systems can enhance mental health.
Unlike simply spending time outdoors, ecotherapy involves intentional, structured activities connecting with nature, to achieve specific psychological benefits.
"We often forget that WE ARE NATURE. Nature is not something separate from us." - Andy Goldsworthy
Ecotherapy, also known as nature therapy or green therapy, uses structured interactions with nature to improve mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Benefits of Ecotherapy
- Scientific research indicates that ecotherapy can help reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and burnout.
- Ecotherapy improves mood, emotional regulation, and overall life satisfaction.
- For example, studies show that walking in a nature preserve can reduce anger and increase positive emotions more effectively than urban walks or indoor activities.
- Nature-based interventions have also been linked to improved cognitive function and social connection, particularly in group settings.
Common Techniques
- Nature Walks and Forest Bathing: Mindful walking, engaging the senses and promoting relaxation.
- Horticultural Therapy: caring for plants to reduce stress, support recovery from trauma, and enhance social interaction.
- Outdoor Meditation and Yoga: Practicing mindfulness, breathwork, sensory meditation to enhance mental clarity and calm.
- Nature Journaling and Mindful Observation: Recording observations or reflecting on natural elements to foster awareness and emotional insight.
- Nature art: To support expression and recovery from trauma.
Ecotherapy and Shamanism
Ecotherapy and Shamanism are interconnected practices that emphasise the connection between the individual and the natural world. Eco-shamanism, a form of eco-therapy, allows individuals to access the spirit world through nature, seeking healing, information, and advice. This practice is rooted in the belief that the greater part of the soul is outside the body, and it encourages a deeper communion with the spirit of our Earth. Eco shamanism is not only about healing but also about reconnecting with the anima mundi, the world soul, and becoming one with our Earth.

Through the intertwined paths of Shamanism and Ecotherapy, Rick and Sheila Blackwell first encountered nature‑based therapeutic practices during their training as Shamanic Practitioners.
They later deepened this work by training in dedicated Ecotherapy techniques with Sweet Track Counselling in Glastonbury.
Today, nature‑based healing forms the foundation of all their Shamanic courses, workshops, and retreats. Ecotherapy is woven through everything they offer, with specialised Ecotherapy workshops available for those who want to explore the practice more deeply.
If you feel called to reconnect with yourself through the wisdom of the natural world, get in touch to learn more about one‑to‑one Ecotherapy sessions and healing work.
