Workshops and Retreats in Glastonbury UK
We have had strong ties to Glastonbury for many years, beginning with our own Shamanic Practitioner training with The Warrior in the Heart Foundation. We first met Mark Loman 25 years ago as one of our teachers, and our paths have remained intertwined ever since. Today, we collaborate in writing and hosting annual shamanic retreats and continue to offer workshops in the Glastonbury area.

Mark Loman
Mark Loman has been a Shamanic Practitioner and teacher for many years. A former teacher with 'The Warrior in the Heart Foundation', he is a respected figure within the Glastonbury Shamanic Community. He brings a deep, lived knowledge of ancient traditions, ritual, ceremony, folklore, and mysticism to the retreats and workshops the team offers, holding the teachings with the authority of long experience and the quiet power of one who walks between worlds.

Richard Blackwell
Richard Blackwell is a Shamanic Practitioner with deep knowledge of ancient traditions. Drawing on a rich lineage of teachings — from drumming and breathwork to shamanic healing — he carries these practices with the steadiness of long experience, weaving them into the workshops and retreats offered in Glastonbury. Through his guidance, participants are invited to enter the deeper currents of the unseen world and awaken their own medicine.

Sheila Blackwell
Sheila Blackwell is a Shamanic Practitioner with deep roots in Paganism and Druidry. She weaves the subtle magic of ceremony, ritual, and ancient lore into the workshops and retreats the team offers in Glastonbury, inviting participants to step into the unseen realms that shape our stories.
The UK Shamanic Gathering 2026!
This is our second year offering a workshop at the annual UK Shamanic Gathering at the EarthSpirit Centre in Compton Dundon.
This year’s theme — “20 Years of Medicine. One Circle. One Fire.” — honours both the shared history of the Gathering and the unifying purpose that continues to guide it. The circle reflects the community built over two decades: connected, collaborative, and enduring. The fire at its centre symbolises the compassion, commitment, and healing spirit that has fuelled every breakthrough and every heart‑opening moment.

For 2026 - Dancing through the Dark Woods.
We have been holding annual intensive shamanic retreats at the EarthSpirit Centre since 2021. Often described by students as “Shamanic Bootcamp,” these immersive residential retreats guide you through a powerful process of change, transformation, and rebirth. They offer a deep journey into the hidden parts of yourself, helping you emerge stronger, clearer, and more empowered in who you are.

Dancing through the Dark Woods
2026
With Mark Loman and Rick & Sheila Blackwell
Join us as we Dance through the Dark Woods — a journey woven with myth, magic, and mystery.
Shamanic traditions teach that the true guru is the child within. This course is a collective journey to reconnect with that inner voice and reclaim the part of us that has been forgotten.
Together, we explore how fairy tales act as mirrors of the collective psyche, revealing our fears, desires, moral dilemmas, and spiritual longings. By listening to the symbolism within stories like Grimm’s Snow White, we uncover insights that reach beyond the personal into the transpersonal, awakening imagination and reshaping the stories we live by.
Dancing through the Dark Woods is an exhilarating path into your own sovereignty — lifting the veil to hidden worlds and igniting what truly lights you up. Expect a week rich with shamanic journeys, ceremony, breathwork, shadow work, movement, ritual, and more.

EarthSpirit Centre
Just five miles from Glastonbury, on the edge of Compton Dundon village, EarthSpirit rests within the sacred landscape of Avalon. Set between two nature reserves and a short walk from St Andrew’s church — home to an ancient 1,800‑year‑old yew — the centre sits within seven acres of fields and gardens.
The seventeenth‑century farm buildings have been beautifully restored and converted into a dedicated retreat venue. At its heart is a 52‑foot barn with oak timbers, stone walls, and reed‑lined roofing — a space that feels medieval yet offers modern comforts like underfloor heating and a large woodstove. High ceilings and skylights fill the room with natural light, creating a warm, spacious atmosphere.
All food is vegetarian and inspired by modern world cuisine. Whenever possible, garden produce is used, including fresh salads and culinary herbs.
Accommodation is comfortable and varied, with options for group spaces, shared rooms, and single rooms.
